THE ULTIMATE MINIATURE GELDING

To own the ultimate miniature gelding is the greatest feeling in the world. I know, for I have experienced that feeling. The gelding I am talking about is “TNT’s Mister J.R. affectionately known as “T”.

I acquired “T” at the 1993 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. I have to admit I was not impressed with him while he was standing in his stall waiting his turn on the auction block. He just looked like any plain sorrel gelding. But when the handler had him set up on the stage, it was as though he had come to life. With big brown eyes and arched neck, I could not take my eyes off of him. He literally took my breath away. At that moment I knew that I was not going to leave without him.

I was told that he was broke to drive. Having been involved with minis about 2-3 years, driving was not something I expected to do. So I took “T” to a friend that trained driving horses. After several weeks she called and asked me to stop by and see his progress.

I was in for quite a shock when she harnessed him up and took a little spin around the driving track. He looked like he was floating on air. His movement and stride were so perfect; it was the most beautiful sight I had ever seen.

Little did I know when I first bought “T”, what he had in store for me. Winning Grands, Reserves, National and Regional Top Tens, National Honor Rolls, and Club Hi-Points, we were going for the ride of a lifetime

The bond we share will last us forever.

Sadlly, I lost “T” suddenly on April 26, 2006, he has crossed over the “RainBow Bridge” into greener pastures,
but he will live in my heart forever.
